HIDDEN RESONANCE PAVILION

This 12’x24’ pavilion serves as a reminder of an encounter with the divine. A frame of bur oak members support an envelope of bookmatched laminated calcite onyx panels. Cut to 1/2” thick, these panels admit light that bathe the interior in a warm glow. The interior walls are lined with a fabric of tuned steel strings—similar to a piano or harp—that wrap the user in an etheral texture of sound. The strings sympathetically resonate with the human voice, encouraging musical and aural interaction. The experience in the pavilion facilitates a meditative state of deep presence.
